Not strong for a woman...just STRONG
Jessica Neues is an outstanding athlete who has made a name for herself through her versatility, dedication and impressive performances. From her early days in flag football, to her success in American football and rugby, to her entry into the world of strongman and Highland Games, Jessica has proven that she is at home in every area of the sport and is always willing to take on new challenges.
Her sporting career began in 1997 with participation in a flag football school group, which led her to the Neuss Flag Fire Wolves, where she played from 1997 to 2001. From there she moved to the Düsseldorf Panther, where she played flag football from 2001 to 2005. In 2006, Jessica had to take a long break after an injury, but her unwavering will brought her back onto the field in 2007, this time with the Düsseldorf Panther Ladies in American football. From 2009 to 2014 she then played for the Düsseldorf Blades and was able to win the title of German runner-up three times during this time.
Her commitment and passion for the sport led Jessica to the American women's national football team in 2010, with which she took part in the World Championship in Stockholm. Further successes in international competitions followed, including participation in the World Championship in Vantra in 2014 and third place at the European Championship in Granada in 2015.
From 2014 to 2018 she played for the Mülheim Shamrocks and became German champion with them in 2014 and German runner-up the following year.
Parallel to her career in American football, Jessica discovered a new passion in rugby sevens in 2015 and played for the Düsseldorf Dragonettes from 2015 to 2018 and for SC Neuenheim in rugby 15s from 2016 to 2021. With SC Neuenheim, she won two German championship titles in 2017 and 2018 and two runner-up titles in 2019 and 2021. She also represented the German national rugby 15s team and won bronze at the European Championship in 2018.
After breaking her shoulder blade, Jessica fought her way back, but with a heavy heart realized that she should say goodbye to contact sports. However, this did not stop her from facing new challenges. In April 2022, she saw a strongman competition live for the first time and discovered her passion for strength training. A week later, she had her first strongman training with Dennis Kohlruss. From then on, she competed in strongman competitions and Highland Games. Her first competition success was not long in coming. In July 2022, she took 2nd place in the final competition of the Strongman Villa, then took part in her first truck pull championships and took 1st place at the end of the Iron Jungle competition.
The first appearance at Highland Games followed in October 2022. Jessica immediately achieved 2nd place in Ossweil.
In May 2023 she took first place at the Strongman Battles in Holland and 4th place at the Highland Games in Kerben.
In June and July, a 3rd place followed at the Highland Games in Hulst, a 3rd place at the NRW Championships, a 2nd place in Angelbachtal, and a 3rd place in Berlin. As well as in August 2023, a 3rd place at the German Championships of the Highland Games, a 3rd place in Kölsum and a 2nd place in Hamm.
The next real milestone came in September when she achieved second place at the Ultimate Strongman World Championship and won the Highland Games in Ossweil.
